side difference in light loss. The loss is more visible here than
on the NTSC, however, while the image on the left is noticeably
darker, notice the t-shirt isn't blown out. Left is with the
EZPrompter installed and exposed to skin tone. Right is with it
removed. No correction applied.

TRADITIONAL
TELEPROMPTER
|
EZPrompter
|
 |
 |
|
Traditional
teleprompter's consists of
3 major
components:
|
EZ Prompter
retains the Beam Splitter Mirror, but rotates it 180 degrees
to allow a platform above the prompter.
|
-
Beam
Splitter Mirror,
-
Monitor
that displays the scrolling text
-
Counterbalance
or structure to keep
everything in balance.
Due
to the weight of these teleprompters, they are normally useful
only in the studio in controlled environments.
While
traditional teleprompters have worked great for newscasters who
are formally trained to read teleprompters, the scrolling text
is often distracting.
Another
drawback of traditional prompters is that they can be difficult
to read in brightly lit conditions. |

NOTE: If
you have an IF lens (Internal Focusing), you will have much better
results with teleprompters in general. This means, that when you
focus the lens, the entire lens housing does not rotate. Even if you
don't have an IF lens, you can still use the EZPrompter. Because this
prompter is attached to the housing, you can still focus, you will just
need to loosen the set screw, focus, then retighten the prompter. The
EZPrompter has been designed to attach to nearly any lens available
through the use of adapters. Current adaptors allow 72mm lenses such as
the Canon XL1 to work. Other adapters will be available soon. The
EZPrompter is a perfect fit for the JVC DY-90 and Canon 18:1 lens.
