DV411 is a Systems Integrator and
Dealership specializing in computer systems and components for Non-Linear Editing, Video
Compositing and 3D Animation.
Computervice was founded in 1992 in Santa Monica, California, building mission-critical fault-tolerant servers and networks.
Fault-tolerant solutions are designed to be "highly available" 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with
very low down-time. Configuring such systems gave us a great and
unique experience in high performance disk arrays, fault-tolerant
multi-processor systems, fail-over, replication and clustering technologies.
In 1994, Computervice was one of the first Computer and/or Video companies to
dive into the Digital arena when it started building Digital Video systems based
on Targa 2000E™ board from Truevision, which was one of the very first open
products in the Non-Linear Editing (NLE) industry. Since then,
Computervice has worked with and configured many systems across various
platforms and NLE applications.
Among our clients are many prominent production, post-production and
effects studios. Our equipment was used in production of a number of blockbuster movies,
TV shows and commercials. Our systems are used in many countries around the globe.

As you may or may not have known, Computervice has been undergoing some
changes, specifically, a name change. In the spring of 2001, we started the
ball rolling with our new website at dv411.com. The last phase of this
process is now completed thanks to longtime Computervice customer,
Editor/Designer, Peter Schlatter who has come up with a brilliant logo and new
look to complement our new name, DV411.
Why DV411?
Computervice' original focus was on building high availability systems for
financial and communications companies. The name, "Computervice"
was intended to symbolize the merger of Computers and Service, fitting as
Service and Support have been the key components to our success.
As our focus has widened and developed over the years, we feel our name should
reflect its progression. DV411 is the synergy of Digital Video and
Information - our expertise and unsurpassed knowledge of Digital Video are
paramount to understanding the changing needs of our clients.
